Thai Benjarong porcelain soup tureen and ladle set with hand-painted floral decorations

The set includes the tureen with lid and ladle, all hand painted in Thailand using enamel colors and gold. It is 13" wide, 10" deep, 9" high and weighs about 5 lb.

Benjarong ware is a kind of painted Thai ceramics porcelain. While the name literally means "five colors," it is a figurative description and actual decoration can have anywhere between 3 and 8 colors. Repetitive forms, usually geometric or flower-based are used in the decorations.
