PAST COLLECTION ITEM Antique Japanese blue and white porcelain barrel shaped sake dispensing jug/keg/caskThis is an antique late 19th century Japanese porcelain barrel (daru) shaped lidded jug/keg/cask for dispensing sake and wine. The sides have molded double rope-like decoration. The body is hand painted with various business names and logos marked in blue calligraphy/kanji on white ground. It has a serving spigot to the front and lug handles. It is large at about 12" in diameter,14.5" high and weighs about 21 lb in weight.
