Antique photographs of two of the four ages/seasons Bertel Thorvaldsen relief sculptures

These are 2 framed antique photographs of 2 marble relief sculptures by the well known Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770-1844), currently at the Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark. The sculptor had created a set of four sculptures depicting the four ages, or four seasons of man. The photographs show the sculptures "Youth or Summer", 1836 and "Old Age or Winter", 1836. The white background of the original sculptures have been cut out of the pictures and are mounted on a round black background for sharp contrast of the figures. The beautiful gilt frames are about 21"x21" in size.
