PAST COLLECTION ITEM Pair of Hans Huggler-Wyss polychrome decorated carved wood busts of a man and a womanThis is a pair of vintage carved wood busts produced at the workshop founded by the well known Swiss artist Hans Huggler-Wyss (1877 – 1947) of Brienz, the center of Swiss woodcarving. These pieces depict provincial figures of an elderly man and a woman wearing headscarves, with realistic features. Each piece has a painted finish and is presented on a rectangular pedestal base. The artist’s mark is stamped to the underside of each. Each of them are about. The woman is 8.5" tall, 6.5" wide, 4" deep. The man is 9" tall, 7" wide, 4.5" deep.
