PAST COLLECTION ITEM Intaglio etching with metallic inlays on handmade paper titled Carmen by Mikulas KravjanskyThis is hard to find mixed media artwork titled Carmen by Mikulas Kravjansky (b. 1928). This large intaglio etching on deckle edged hamdmade paper depicts an actress performing Georges Bizet’s French opera Carmen. She is portrayed wearing a long red gown. Her arms are raised behind her as she holds a fan in her right hand. It has been professionally mounted, matted and framed in a nice and expensive black frame. The large frame is 40.5" wide, 54.25" high and 2" deep. The sticker of Dyansen Gallery is present verso.
