Storyboard from Palau depicting the Legend of the Breadfruit Tree in 3D relief wood carving

This is Palauan storyboard made by intricately carving 3D relief features on a wood panel. It is 36"x24"x1" and is 15 lb in weight. The story board depicts the Legend of the Breadfruit Tree. The carving shows many people on boats plucking breadfruits under the breadfruit tree. A turtle, an alligator, a lobster, a whale, a manta ray and an octopus can be seen inside and below the hollow trunk of the tree. Two houses among coconut trees can also be see in the background.
