Paul M. Breeden gold foil etching depicting hummingbirds drinking nectar from flowers

This is a beautiful gold foil etching of artwork created by Paul M. Breeden (1942-) which depicts hummingbirds drinking nectar while hovering near the flowers.  The etching was created from the features that were first incised on scratchboard, a white clay coated board which is covered with black ink, then scratched through with a sharp tool to create texture and form.  This technique produces subtle graduations and sharp detail.  His name appears in the etching.  The etching itself is 11"x 14" in size.  The frame is 17"x21-1/2".
