CURRENT COLLECTION ITEM Italian Renaissance style mahogany four post canopy bed with multiple figural carvingsThis is a unique California King size 4 post canopy bed carved out of solid mahogany wood. It is in the Italian Renaissance style with profuse ornate carvings. The headboard is in the shape of a central round crest flanked by playful putti on either side of a shield form. The two bed posts on either side of the headboard has carved female caryatids mounted on Corinthian capitals. The relief carved superstructure is supported by the four posts. The food board has turned legs and carvings of a bearded figure, probably satyrs. Overall, the bed is 107" tall, 95" long and 83" deep.
