PAST COLLECTION ITEM Antique Chinese red shrine cabinet with gilt wood carved panelsThis is a beautiful red Chinese shrine cum cabinet likely from the early 20th century. It has very ornate gilt craved and pierced figural panels representing people, trees, birds, etc. There are two open shelves in the upper section, two rows of small drawers in the middle and a pair of hinged double doors in the lower section. The upper part can be used to put some statue of gods for prayer. The sceneries seem to represent some old mythological story. The top center panel has carvings of the 3 lucky gods and some other people in them. This panel ends with carvings of fish tails on either sides. Overall the cabinet is 73" tall, 40" wide and 17" deep.
