Antique Kora (stringed musical instrument) from West Africa

This is a Kora, a stringed musical instrument from West Africa.  Kora is a mandinka harp built from a large calabash cut in half and covered with cow skin to make a resonator with a long hardwood neck.  This particular piece was brought from Ghana.  It is 26" long and 8" wide.  It can be played or used just as a decoration because of its unusual nature.
