PAST COLLECTION ITEM Framed print of a photograph by Boris Skvirsky titled FragranceThis is a framed fine art print of a photograph titled Fragrance from the recently rediscovered 1930's Parisian portfolio of Art Deco nude studies done by Russian expatriate Boris Evseevich Skvirsky (1887-1941). In the 1930's Skvirsky was the head of the Soviet Information Bureau in Washington DC and acted as the unofficial Russian ambassador to the US. I was able to find a few pictures of him from the 1930's online. The links are provided here - photo 1 (front), photo 2 (front, back), photo 3 (front, back). This artwork is available to the public for the first time since its original exhibition in New York in 1932 by Skvirsky. This piece depicts a nude woman in soft focus as she bends over to breath in the scent of flowers in a vase. The grainy texture and diffused nature of the original photograph is replicated well in the print. The dimensions of the frame are 20"x24".
