PAST COLLECTION ITEM Handwoven bamboo and wicker rice container from Northern Thailand with lacquer paintingThis is a beautiful hand painted lacquer container with lid from Northern Thailand. It is supposed to be a rice container, but can also be used as a display because of its artistic quality. It has been made using bamboo, wood and rattan. The outside is coated with lacquer (chocolate color) over which some beautiful flowers have been hand painted. The lid diameter is about 8", the height from the base to lid top is 20" and the base is 12" square. The maximum diameter of the container is about 13". With the handle in vertical position the height from base to handle top is about 27".
