PAST COLLECTION ITEM Art Nouveau slag glass Tiffany style floor lampThis is a very rare floor lamp with slag glass shade in the Art Nouveau style. The shade features 8 opaque leaf-shaped curved slag glass panels with 8 alternating red colored stained glass pieces. The crown on the shade has another 8 opaque carved slag glass pieces. The 24 glass pieces have been put together in an intricate and ornately decorated bronze frame. The base is cast brass that features a floral husk and supports a twisted brass tube. Two pull chain sockets allow turning on/off the 2 bulbs separately. A solid two-piece brass finial sits in the center of the shade support. The lamp is 65" tall with a base diameter of 12". The shade diameter is about 19" and is 12" tall. At some recent point in its history it was rewired and new sockets installed. I am not sure if this lamp is actually from the Art Nouveau era or a vintage reproduction, but when I searched online in auction databases I could find just one record of a lamp with a similar shade design. The only difference is that instead of the red colored stained glass pieces it has green ones.
