Antique wall clock with tole polychrome metal frame of vines, flowers and leaves

This is an antique clock with a very unique metal frame. The most interesting part of the clock is the ornate tole metal frame showing white vines, pink flowers, blue flower buds and green leaves. A clock shop owner estimated it to be from the 40's or 50's and thinks that it was originally an Italian or Spanish wind-up clock that has been converted to a battery operated one. May be someone visiting this page can provide their opinion on this item. The quartz clock is of the brand Junghans, made in Germany (model # W738). There is a repair sticker on the back dated 1988. The clock measures about 43" x 23".
