PAST COLLECTION ITEM Fiberglass sculpture of Albert Einstein holding a stack of books which is actually a wooden cabinetThis is a rare vintage statue of the famous scientist Albert Einstein holding a stack of books. The books are accented with gold leaf. The book stack is actually a wooden storage cabinet with 3 fixed shelves which can be opened and things can be stored. On his right eye there is a glass (monicle) attached to a gold metal chain used as a book mark or latch to secure the front cabinet door. The statue has glass eyes, and has been made using fiber glass and then coated with some sort of resin. It is 4'6" tall, 16" wide, 16" deep and about 30 lb in weight. It is from the 1980's or possibly earlier and is quite collectible. There are very few references online related to this item. Here is an interesting article related to fixing such a statue.
