PAST COLLECTION ITEM Large Neoclassical style metal jardinière with sculpture of two women holding an urnThis is a large 42" tall metal jardinière with sculpture in the classical Greek design. It depicts a ribbed amphora-form urn with scroll-molded necks and leaf-molded handles supported by two maids, possibly nymphs. The square base has scrollwork and anthemia in relief. The metal seems to be stainless steel or silver plated brass. The subject matter of the sculpture could be related to some Greek or Roman mythology. The sculpture is heavy at about 70 lb in weight and has a maximum width of about 18".
