PAST COLLECTION ITEM Haeger vase commemorating the 1969 moon landing by the Apollo 11 astronautsThis very rare Haeger vase commemorates the first Moon Landing of 1969 by the Apollo 11 astronauts. One side of the flat pillow shaped vase reads "Commemorating Man's First Landing on the Moon, July 20, 1969 by U.S. Astronauts: Armstrong and Aldrin, Navigated by Collins" There is a bald eagle insignia below the inscriptions. The other side of the vase depicts in relief the earth, the moon and two other planets. The vase is golden bronze in color and is about 10" tall, 5" wide and 3.5" deep. The vase was designed by Eric Olsen which is stated on the bottom of the vase. Eric Olsen was Haeger’s chief designer from 1947 to 1972. It is a spectacular Moon Landing memorabilia.
