PAST COLLECTION ITEM Oil and horsehair on canvas painting depicting an Oriental scenery by Chen MaoThe painting shows a house, a waterfall, boat, people fishing, etc. There are mountains in the background. Horse hair and paint has been used to create some 3D relief features. The title of the painting is Oriental Splendor. It is signed and stamped by the artist Chen Mao (1942 - 2011). He excelled in the technique of application of horse hair and heavily textured oil with a palate knife. The frame size is 28"x32".
