The carvings depict Egyptian motifs, such as serpents which had a prominent role in Egyptian culture. The serpent symbolized the beginning and end of time, and also fertility. The piece has been hand signed in the back by the artist Stanley L. Harvey of Sacramento, CA, USA . The piece was made in 2004. The item is 41-1/2"x11"x1-1/2" in size.
