Burl wood sculpture of cobra and frog with gold coins

This is an interesting wooden carved sculpture showing a cobra and a frog under a bitter gourd tree/vine with gold coins. Some of the coins have some Chinese characters engraved on them. I think the subject matter is related to some Chinese mythology or folklore. The sculpture is about 18" tall , 15" wide and weighs about 10 lb.
