PAST COLLECTION ITEM Oriental inspired faux ivory table with relief carved top and figural baseThis is a vintage decorative table made of faux (not real) ivory in Italy. It is 20" tall, 17" wide and weighs about 20 lb. The top and the base are separate pieces. The round table top is has beautiful relief carvings of a carriage/chariot being driven by an Asian driver with 2 Asian women passengers. This is surrounded by a decorative landscape and 2 other people along side the carriage. It also has some writing in Chinese characters. The base has the following 4-levels of intricately carved features:
Level 1 - 3 different semi-nude women and in between them are an eagle, a cobra and a Fu dog Level 2 - 3 elephants Level 3 - 7 different animal figures Level 4 - 3 dragons or Fu dogs with large claw feet To see collection items currently available for purchase please follow the instructions provided in the my collection page. |
